Brest W300A
Nearshore floating photovoltaic (FPV) power plant
In 2026, HelioRec deployed the W300A, its next-generation floating solar system designed specifically for nearshore and marine environments. Installed in Brest Port, the demonstrator validates the performance of an enhanced floating platform capable of operating under higher waves, strong winds, tidal variations, and dynamic marine loads.
The project features an advanced remote monitoring system that continuously measures wave height, wind speed, solar irradiance, water and air temperature, platform inclination, and structural loads through inclinometers and load cells. All operational data is transmitted remotely, enabling real-time performance monitoring and supporting the validation of the system under real marine conditions.
Capacity: 10 kWp
Maximum wind speed: 200 km/h
Maximum wave height: > 2 m
Water level variation: 7 m
Application: Tidal nearshore port environment
Monitoring: Wave, wind, solar irradiance, water & air temperature, inclinometers, load cells, remote real-time data transmission
The project validates the structural behaviour, mooring performance, and long-term reliability of HelioRec's next-generation W300A floating solar system in a demanding marine environment.
