News from our floating solar power plant: Temperature -18degC in Makhachkala city (Dagestan, #Russia ). Lake Ak-Gel is completely frozen. Solar panels from Солар Системс are generating electricity. Engineers EcoEnergy company are monitoring the situation. We will keep posted and give you updates once a lake will be unfrozen and mechanical properties of the HelioRec floating system can be inspected. P.S. People do not remember when this lake was frozen. It is a real anomaly

On 13th of September was installed the first in the world unique hybrid for lake purification: floating PV and aeration system. Lake Ak-Gel is located in the centre of Makhachkala (Dagestan Republic, Russia) and it faces many serious ecological problems (Figure 1): Oxygen concentration is 3 times less than normal; Active algae growth; Water evaporation (area was reduced twice during the last 20 years).
