We are excited to share that Ahmed Sherif, our talented R&D Engineer at HelioRec, recently visited the 3rd Annual Floating Solar PV Forum in Amsterdam. It was truly a pleasure to be present at this remarkable event, where industry leaders, experts, and enthusiasts came together to explore the advancements and potential of floating solar technology.
During the forum, Ahmed had the opportunity to deliver an engaging technical talk on the numerical simulations and experimental validation challenges for full-scale Floating Solar Photovoltaic (FSPP) projects. Sharing our knowledge and insights in this field was truly rewarding, and we appreciate the platform provided by Leadvent Group.
The forum proved to be an invaluable learning experience for Ahmed and all attendees. The industry numbers and trends showcased the promising growth of floating solar, with the potential to install up to 400 GW of capacity globally, according to the World Bank. As reported by Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables, over 2.4 GW of photovoltaic panels were already installed on water across 35 countries by the end of 2019.
